I actually don’t mind studying after a full day of work (and gym). In fact, I somewhat miss academically learning. I’ve realized my creative thought process and problem solving skills have diminished quite a bit ever since I settled for my current job. My current job is too repetitive; there’s no room for growth and creative work… it leaves me with an unsettling and disappointed feeling. This is when I began to see my happiness decrease over time, and I knew something had to change.
I decided to look for a creative occupation; one that exhibits both problem solving and creativity… and after much thinking/research, I’ve leaned towards front-end web development (and soon back-end)! Coding is actually fascinating in terms of piecing a website together and making all of your effects come alive. It’s almost like choreographing, it’s fun!.. but not tiring at all! And after 6/10 weeks of this intensive course, I’m still motivated to learn more and become a full-stack developer.
It’s a scary thought to know that I’m making a complete 180 turn in my career… and trying to get a job after one course LOL. Meh, it makes me wish I majored in Comp Sci back at UCI, but oh well! These things happen for a reason. Don’t get me wrong, [Micro]biology is interesting, but I just can’t see myself in that field forever. But if you want to talk about Escherichia Coli, Environmental Monitoring, Growth Promotion, or even Preservative Efficiency Testing, I’ll be more than happy to nerd out with you. But for now [and forever], I’m gonna be a computer geek 8]
